My name is Julieta De Marco. I am twenty-seven years old and I am from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have been working as an English teacher for four years at a secondary school in Buenos Aires province. I am a student at Instituto Nacional Superior del Profesorado Técnico and the aim of this blog is to share with the teaching community what I am learning with my tutor Paula Ledesma in the subject 'ICT in ELT'.

Padlet A great tool to encourage collaborative work online. After discussing certain items of vocabulary, students can be asked to classify the words into different categories and post them on a shared wall. They can do it at the same time and the teacher can monitor students' work. Google Docs This is one of the apps I most frequently use with my students, especially when we focus on process writing. In this opportunity, I've prepared an interesting lesson plan for secondary school students (precisely in 6th year) with an intermediate language level.  This lesson plan can be used as part of a project with two other subjects (Economics and Politics) and it is supposed to be delivered in two 120-minute lessons.  Lesson plan: Inflation and its consequences Part 1 (120 minutes) Students will be asked to work in groups to read a text about inflation. To start with, the teacher will introduce some key words that are present in the text to scaffold future understanding. Students will be asked to access an online word document (students will get access of the link by scanning a QR code) and look up the following words in the dictionary in order to create a glossary:  sustained rise, price, goods, increase, average, households, stable, consumer price index.
